Fujitsu Lifebook U8240 has certainly been an interesting development for the UMPC market. By transferring the the functionality of a Tablet PC into a UMPC form factor, Fujitsu has solved some serious ergonomic and familiarity issues that stifled the adoption of first generation UMPCs.
Only now Fujitsu looks almost drunk happy with it’s achievement and just doesn’t know how to name it. First it was Fujitsu FMV Lifebook U8240. Now it’s Fujitsu U1010 in Korea and Singapore. Oh and it’s Fujitsu FMV-BIBLO LOOX U50WN in Japan. I wander how will it be named whenever it reaches European and American shores….

On the other hand Fujitsu Lifebook U8240/U1010/BIBLO LOOX U50WN or however it’s named is still a great piece of equipment, especially if you are looking for extreme portability and full PC functionality in one box.
Just to remind you the specs for the first Lifebook U series UMPC are:
